Thousands of protestors have gathered in Jerusalem demanding the departure of Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, on Sunday evening.

Netenyahu’s indictment for corruption, mishandling the economy, fraud and bribery in relation to the coronavirus crisis has caused the Israeli occupation to come to a complete closure on Friday, right before the Jewish new year, for three consecutive weeks.

This closure is the second total lockdown enforced by the occupation's authorities, the first one took place in early September, and will include conservative-jewish and Arab neighbourhoods

Despite the restrictions and increasing number of cases, the demonstrations showed the highest rates of turnout with protestors wearing face masks and attempting to be socially distant.

However, whilst police officials prepared barriers in order to abide by the rules, these blockades were quickly removed and it became difficult to control protestors.

A total of 11 protestors have been arrested for allegedly disturbing the peace and counts of assault.
